Me: So you really want to wear the red tights with the purple dress? Wouldn't gray tights match better?
MC: I want red because it's the color of Jesus' blood!

Well, can't argue with that...

Our schedule is a little thrown off for the next couple of weeks, so I was planning on taking everyone to Mass myself (and seeing who might be willing to sit with Grandma), but Andrew ended up being able to come with us for most of Mass before he had to leave for *his* Mass. Which means I only had to wrangle the twins and Edith, not Peter (until after Communion)!

We tried... We started out in the main church, but once Andrew had to go out with Peter and I had to be in the aisle with Edith, the twins were alone in the pew and decided they needed to be with me, also... So, since the church was packed and we weren't even able to use our pew space, I just took the girls to the chapel to watch the rest of the Mass on TV. Which meant they had to go to the bathroom and spend a very long time washing their hands... This is why they usually aren't allowed to go to Mass together.

Peter wouldn't stop singing Deck the Halls loudly, but other than that, his behavior was actually better than usual... And by the end of Mass, he had switched to Mary had a Little Lamb, which is obviously more liturgically appropriate!

And immediately after this, I put her down for a nap...

In the spirit of Divine Mercy Sunday, everybody got a treat after Mass, despite their behavior. Because mercy! Are you going to pray a chaplet today? It's so super-easy, but I'd never heard of it until a few years ago when John Paul picked up a pamphlet and insisted on us praying the Divine Mercy novena. Gotta love kids encouraging piety! (If you sign up for these emails, you'll get reminders - otherwise I'd forget!)

A great giveaway I'm participating that ends tomorrow!

And an excellent article that inspired my "Mass Treat Mercy" today 😳

Your turn!

Post your outfit details & links or not, regale us all with your children's antics, reflect deeply on the readings, or just do a straight picture post - anything goes as long as you actually wore your outfit to church. The link-up is open until Friday, so you've got plenty of time to add your post!

Just a few ground rules before you link up:

1. Please include a photo of what you wore to church this week.

2. Please link back to this post in the body of your post, so your readers know where to find other posts (posts not mentioning "My Sunday Best" or not linking back to this post will be subject to removal).

3. Please visit some other posts in the link-up & leave a nice comment - this is all about affirming each other and building community, not just link dropping :)

4. Make sure the link you add is a link to your specific post or instagram picture (hashtag #mysundaybest and mention me in your caption, @rosiehill425 so I don't miss it!), not just your blog address.

5. Enjoy, and thanks for linking up!
